Harness the Power of Intention: Using Crystals  in the Workplace

Written by Gemma Price | May 4, 2025 6:43:36 PM

I've spoken to dozens of leaders about the little things they do to bring calm and balance to their workspaces, and I'm a firm believer that everyone can to appreciate the power of bringing more meaning and mindfulness into their workspace. From printed quotes and affirmations, to candles and crystals, you can place mindful intention behind anything that connects you to the present moment.

Sometimes, something as simple as a crystal on your desk can serve as a prompt to pause, breathe, and reconnect.

Here are 10 beautiful crystals — and the intentional leadership qualities they can help you (and your team) cultivate.

1. Aquamarine — For Calm Communication

In the fast pace of modern business, communication often slips into autopilot. Aquamarine is known for its soothing, truth-enhancing energy — encouraging clarity in difficult conversations and calm during moments of pressure.

Coaching Tip: Place it where tough conversations happen — and use it as a visual cue to pause, ground yourself, and speak from a centred place.

2. Citrine — For Creativity and Momentum

Citrine is like sunlight in crystal form — energising, expansive, and bold. Known as the “success stone,” it supports creative thinking and a positive mindset, especially in teams navigating change or problem-solving.

Set the Intention: “Let new ideas flow with ease.” Bonus: Citrine also pairs beautifully with goal-setting work.

3. Amethyst — For Emotional Intelligence

Amethyst is the classic “balancer” — often used in meditation to ease anxiety, restore calm, and deepen self-awareness. In a workplace context, used with intention, it supports emotional regulation and helps build more empathic, conscious teams.

In Coaching: We often explore how emotions live in the body. Amethyst can be a gentle companion as you learn to sit with discomfort instead of avoiding it.

4. Sodalite — For Trust and Teamwork

Sodalite encourages rational thought and intuition — a rare combo that supports both collaboration and courage. It's ideal for teams who need to strengthen trust, speak up, and feel psychologically safe.

Try This: Keep a piece in shared spaces as a reminder: everyone’s voice matters.

5. Pyrite — For Confident, Conscious Leadership

Pyrite may look like gold, but its true value lies in what it symbolises: strength, focus, and abundance. It's a favourite among leaders looking to sharpen clarity, boost memory, and lead with intention.

Coach’s Note: Leadership isn’t just about being in charge — it’s about who you become when you're aligned with your purpose. Pyrite is a powerful anchor for that intention.

6. Hematite — For Grounded Confidence

Hematite is all about inner resilience. Its grounding properties support courage, healthy boundaries, and staying focused in high-stress environments — especially useful for anyone navigating burnout or imposter syndrome.

Use It To Anchor: Your morning mindset. Hold it before a meeting and ask, “What would confidence feel like in my body right now?”

7. Fluorite — For Problem Solving & Clarity

Fluorite is like the mental declutterer of the crystal world. Used with intention, it helps cut through noise and supports unbiased reasoning — perfect for meetings, brainstorming, or any time complex decisions need to be made.

In Coaching: We often explore the difference between reactive and aligned decision-making. Fluorite supports the pause between those two.

8. Carnelian — For Motivation and Action

If you're in a procrastination slump or your team energy feels flat, Carnelian is a gentle but fiery motivator. It’s said to spark drive, vitality, and forward movement.

Visual Cue: Let it be your “get up and go” reminder — a physical prompt to reconnect with your why when motivation dips.

9. Jade — For Organisation and Mental Clarity

Known for its soothing energy, Jade is associated with balance, focus, and prosperity. It’s especially helpful for mental clarity — supporting clear priorities and intentional action.

Coaching Connection: Organisation isn’t just a skill — it’s a reflection of mental space. Jade invites presence and peace in the midst of pressure.

10. Clear Quartz — For Focused Listening

The “master healer” of the crystal world, Clear Quartz amplifies intention and supports clarity in communication. It’s especially powerful for active listening — helping you stay present in conversations that matter.

Set the Intention: “I listen to understand, not to respond.” Use it as a grounding object in meetings or 1:1s.

Final Thoughts:

You don’t have to believe in magic to benefit from meaning.

Crystals in the workplace aren’t about superstition — they’re about intention, energy, and small rituals that reconnect us to ourselves and each other.

And that’s where the real transformation happens — not just from the stones themselves, but from the conscious awareness they invite.

If you're curious about how to align your energy, lead with greater authenticity, and reconnect with your purpose, coaching could be your next step.
